Take a scenic stroll through Wickford on your way to find a Letterbox! Sundays and Mondays would not be a good time to find this box. Tuesday thru Friday between 11am and 5:30pm would be great, as well as Saturdays 10-5.
To park where we usually do for a trip to Wickford, from Rt.1 North or South in Rhode Island find your way to West Main St. (A bit north from the intersection of Rt. 102). Drive down a short ways to park along the south side of the road across from the Mobil Station. You should see a pond over the wooden fence.
Once out of your car, continue to walk SEish down this road. You may wish to stop for a latte and pastry at 21 West Main. Continue on till you reach the crosswalk straight ahead. Cross this crosswalk toward "99: The Tome Nursery". Now continue to the SW for a ways, past the library to your left. Right before the next intersection, use the crosswalk heading west to the other side of the road. From here count 27 paces (over the small stone steps) at 268. Enter thru the doors.
Follow the aisle closest to the right hand wall, browsing as you go. When you reach the back wall, turn left and walk 5 paces, turn left again and another 5 paces should take you to some stairs. Look in the space under the stairs and shelf there to find The Wickford Letterbox. Keep an eye out for clues to a Bonus! Retrace your steps to find your way back to your car.
